All applicants must be high school seniors and plan to enter a college, university or trade school in the next academic year.

Four winners will be chosen and scholarships of (2) $1,000 and (2) $500 will be awarded.   Entry deadline for submission ended April 4, 2014.  The amount of the award will be paid to the recipient to provide financial assistance to the recipient in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree at an accredited trade school, college or university.

Congratulations to those of you who entered the scholarship this year.  The scholarship committee will meet and the winners will be announced by the end of April.  Thank you!

The 2014 Dollars for Scholars Scholarship topic was:

“Describe a special attribute or accomplishment that you are most proud of.”

Winners will be selected by an independent committee.  All entries are submitted to the committee with no identifying marks or symbols which show either the name of the applicant or school they attend.   The scholarship committee’s principal determining factor in selecting award recipients is the applicant’s passion for the topic. Additionally, the committee will use the following criteria in judging responses to the topic: comprehension of subject, organization, language use, originality, clarity, spelling and grammar. Scholarship recipients will be selected without regard to their race, religion or gender.

Thank you for being a part of Option 1!
